What’s in Each Lesson
Day 1: Pick one story
Five moments, one story. How to choose the one the room can hold, and two tests that tell you it's the right one.
Day 2: Write the ending first
Why the toast gets written before the opening, and the five-part shape every good wedding speech follows.
Day 3: Cut it down
What to cut, the one question that finds lines doing no work, and how to count it against the clock.
Day 4: Say it out loud
Stand up and say it. Where you'll run out of breath, where to pause, and why three run-throughs is the number.
Day 5: The day itself
First line by heart, cards not a phone, where to hold the mic, and the one thing nerves do to everyone.
Rather Do It All Today?
Everything in the course is on the site too. Print the one-page speech worksheet for your role, read full example speeches, and time your draft with the speech length calculator. If you already have a draft, the free speech check tells you what lands and what to cut.
Questions
What do I get?
Five emails, one a day. Each is a short lesson with one job to do, about fifteen minutes of work. The first arrives as soon as you sign up. After the fifth, the course stops.
Who is it for?
Anyone giving a speech at a wedding or engagement party: best man, maid of honor, a parent, the couple, a sibling or a friend. The lessons follow the shape every good wedding speech has, whatever your role.
How soon before the wedding should I start?
Two to three weeks out is ideal, so you finish with time to practice. If the wedding is this weekend, sign up anyway: the first three lessons get you a draft, and the last two still help on the day.
Will you send me other email?
No. We don't send newsletters. Every course email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all of them.
