Rehearsal Mode

Practice your speech until it sounds like you.

A teleprompter and a stopwatch for the week before the wedding. Paste your speech, say it out loud, and find out how long it really runs and where you speed up. It all happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Set up your practice

Nothing you type here leaves this browser.

Sets the target length for your runs.

130 is a relaxed wedding pace. The pace check measures you instead.

How do you want to practice?

How to practice

  • Say it out loud, standing up.Reading in your head runs far faster than speaking and hides every line you’ll stumble on. Stand where you can’t lean on anything.
  • Do three full runs a day in the last week. Your time will drop for the first few runs and then settle. Settled is what you want, not fast.
  • Practice the flagged lines on their own.A rushed line is usually one you’re nervous about. A dragging line is usually one you haven’t learned yet. A few runs of just those lines usually sorts them out.
  • Leave room for the laughs. When a line lands, wait for the room to settle before the next one. Expect the real thing to run a little longer than your living room runs.
  • Do one run for a real person.A partner, a roommate, a friend on a video call. You’ll find out which jokes need a beat and which line made them look at their phone.
  • Put the teleprompter away for the last two days. Use it to learn the order, then move to short cue cards so you can look up at the couple instead of down at a screen.

Not sure the speech itself is ready? The free check reads it line by line first, and The Room shows you how a table of wedding guests would hear it.
